StartUp Race: University Edition

What is StartUp Race?

StartUp Race: University Edition is a 12-week hands-on entrepreneurship tournament where university students form teams to design, build, and sell real products or services. It's a simulation of real-world business building—with real tools, real sales, and real rewards.

This is not theory. This is execution.

Who is it for?

  •  Students from universities, technical schools, or research centers
  • Multidisciplinary teams of 3–5 members
  • Ideal for business, engineering, design, and innovation fields
  • Participants eager to turn ideas into business reality

What's included?

  •  12-week structured program
  • Access to the WorkFlow Capital financial model for tracking, forecasting and reporting
  • Templates, dashboards, and startup resources
  • Optional mentor sessions
  • Weekly challenges and real sales tracking

Weekly Structure

  1. Week 1 -  Kickoff + Registration  -  Form teams and get onboarded to the platform 
  2. Week 2 - Problem Exploration -  Identify real-world needs to address 
  3. Week 3 - Ideation + Value prop -  Develop your core product or service idea
  4. Week 4 - Business Model + Canvas -  Build your business map and pricing logic 
  5. Week 5 - Financial Planning -  Use the WorkFlow Capital model to simulate
  6. Week 6 -  Validation (No sales) -  Test market interest with early users
  7. Week 7 -  MVP / Product Build -  Build your minimum viable product
  8. Week 8 -  Launch & Sell (Phase 1) -  Start selling to real customers
  9. Week 9 -  Progress Report #1 -  Submit financial report and optimize strategy
  10. Week 10 -  Growth + Storytelling -  Accelerate sales and prepare final pitch
  11. Week 11 -  Final Report -  Upload final sales + results 
  12. Week 12 - Demo Day + Awards - Pitch to judges, winners announced!

Prizes

  • 🥇 1st Place: $50,000 MXN + WorkFlow onboarding + investor access
  • 🥈 2nd Place: $25,000 MXN + startup bootcamp
  • 🥉 3rd Place: $10,000 MXN + digital tools + mentoring
  • ✨ Special awards for innovation, social impact, and consistency

Format and Access

  •  Can be virtual, in-person, or hybrid
  • Materials provided in English and Spanish
  • Flexible to run within academic courses or as an extracurricular tournament

Institutional Participation

 Universities and organizations pay a flat rate:

  • 💸 $12,000 MXN per institution (includes up to 5 teams)
  • ➕ Additional teams: $1,500 MXN each
  • ✉️ Custom sponsorship and scholarship options available
